We’re looking for multiple people to join our core vegetable crew! We grow 10 acres of annual and perennial vegetables and berries, and we are committed to exceptionally high quality product, crop diversity, and efficient growing practices that build and nurture the soil. We sell our produce at 4 weekly Farmer’s Markets in San Rafael, Berkeley, and Healdsburg, as well as to chefs and grocery stores through our local wholesaler F.E.E.D.
Primary crew tasks include harvesting our crops as well as miscellaneous field tasks such as planting, amending, weeding, thinning, mulching, and more. The days are long and the tasks are strenuous, so we aim to build a team that works together to maintain a positive working environment. Our community is bilingual and multicultural, and some of our farm’s core values are inclusivity and connection across these lines.
Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years experience working on a production farm. Our goal is to support team members in developing and deepening their skills, with opportunities to continue to grow with the farm. Starting compensation depends on experience and position-specific responsibility. Included is all of the produce you can eat as well as discounts on meat and wine!
Have you already worked on a farm crew and are looking for more responsibility? We may have a management-level opportunity for you!
When applying, please include what experience you have, if any, with the following:
Operating farm machinery, driving tractors
Sales and Marketing (including farmer’s markets)
Any other special skills/interests!
All positions will start April 1, with potential for training sooner. We will begin interviewing in early January.
If interested joining the Front Porch Farm team, please email a resume, cover letter, and references to firstname.lastname@example.org.
